Kharul is a trained Orton-Gillingham Practitioner with four years experience teaching at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore, in addition to her years of mainstream teaching and working with special needs students.

History

A trained Orton-Gillingham Practitioner with four years experience teaching at the Dyslexia Association of Singapore. Khairul has a degree in Communication Studies from Murdoch University, a Diploma at Professional Level in Dyslexia Studies from the University of Cambridge International Examinations and a Certificate in Teaching from the National Institute of Education, Singapore. After her teacher training, she taught for three years as a mainstream primary school teacher in a government school.

She has also taught as a special needs teacher at APSN (Association for Persons with Special Needs) Katong School in Singapore for three and a half years teaching Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Life Skills and Social Emotional Competency to students with special needs such as Down’s Syndrome, Aspergers and Mild Intellectual Disability. She moved to Sydney in 2015.
