After obtaining her Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc), majoring in Economics with a minor in Mathematics, from the National University of Singapore, Sabariah then pursued a post graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in Teaching of English Language and Mathematics from the Singapore National Institute of Education.
Sabariah then added a Specialist Certificate in Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Fundamentals from the Singapore Institute of Adult Learning (IAL) and a Certificate in Dyscalculia and Numeracy Teaching from Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS).
Sabariah is an articulate communicator, who is able to effectively interact with diverse populations of students at a variety of academic levels. She began her career as a teacher in secondary schools in Singapore, specialising in teaching students with academic challenges. To focus on specialisation in teaching students with other challenges, she went on to teach at the Singapore Boys’ Home, which is a juvenile detention and rehabilitation centre. Sabariah then taught at Northlight School – a school for students who have difficulties keeping up with mainstream education and who are at risk of dropping out from the Singapore education system prematurely.
With a strong focus on achieving an excellent relation with students, Sabariah is a self-motivated individual, with strong planning, organisational and specialist educational skills.
